Valentine's Day in Istanbul

Happy Valentine's Day

Although the hotel is unfamiliar to me, I am intrigued by the Valentine’s Day menu being promoted by Midtown Hotel, in the Taksim area of Istanbul as part of its February 14 package for couples.

The Valentine’s Day promotion for two persons is 140 Euros, VAT included.

Here’s the part that really tempted me -  the dinner menu (although I would miss aborigine puree!!)

FISH TRIPLET
Mini shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon with calamari, anchovy terrine on marinated asparagus

FRIED SHRIMP BALLS
Shrimp balls in phyllo pastry with olive paste

SORBET
Orange sorbet in orange cup, slices of orange and fresh mint

LAMB BACK (RACK OF LAMB) MARINATED WITH HERB
On a bed of aborigines puree (ouch! should it read aubergines
Muscatel (?mesclun) vegetables
Pomegranate sauce

HOT CHESNUT CAKE
With caramel sauce and green pistachios

SPECIAL VALENTINE’S DAY CAKE

Although the Taksim area is not my favourite, if I were in Istanbul with my hubby on Valentine’s Day, I might be tempted to give this a try!
