Turkish Cafe in Vancouver

Dolma - Stuffed Vine Leaves

Until recently, there has been a distinct lack of options (read zero) for savouring Turkish cuisine in Vancouver.

This is set to change, though.  I wrote about Anatolia’s Gate restaurant recently, and the delicious meals our small group shared.  Well now I understand that Turk-owned and managed Vancouver Cafe is serving traditional Turkish breakfasts and my favourite, borek, alongside more familiar West Coast favourites.  I haven’t been yet, but will go as soon as my work load lifts a little.  In the meantime, if you have been, let me know what you think.  And remember, as with anything, dishes always taste more delicious in their home setting.

There’s no better time than now to visit Turkey for excellent value for money, rich culture (2010 Istanbul is European Capital of Culture, so lots of concerts, exhibitions etc.) friendly people and delicious, and nutritious food.
