Istanbul is The Stage for Contemporary Arts

The Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair will take place between October 16th and 19th. The fair, sponsored by Akbank Private Banking, will take place for the third time and be held at the Istanbul Lutfi Kirdar International Congress and Exhibition Palace.

238 artists, including 90 foreign ones, would participate in the fair. More than 50,000 visitors are expected at the fair.

Paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations, video art and digital art pieces as well as videos from artists abroad will be on display at the fair.

Among the names whose art works will be on display at the Istanbul fair are Burhan Dogancay, Semiha Berksoy, Inci Eviner, Kezban Arca Batibeki, Ahmet Elhan, Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter, Sam Francis, Sigmar Polke, Alen Jones, Tom Wesselman, Tony Cragg, Mayumi Okabayashi and Mike Berg.

A painting of Burhan Dogancay will be on sale for $1,000,000 at the fair.
